Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I’m writing to share exciting
news with you. Earlier today, Greg Peaslee made an announcement about my
departure from UPMC, below is the full statement:

With mixed emotions, I
inform you that Candi Castleberry Singleton, Chief Diversity and Inclusion
Officer, will leave UPMC at the end of September to dedicate her efforts to take
the Dignity & Respect Campaign nationwide. Although her departure will be
difficult for UPMC, we recognize that expanding the Campaign is important at a
time when our country can benefit from the lessons and understanding that
Dignity & Respect fosters across communities. We look forward to helping Candi
in this noble endeavor, which has its roots here at UPMC.

Since Candi joined
UPMC in 2008, she has helped develop our inclusion and engagement initiatives --
both within UPMC and in our communities -- to a world-class level.  We are
grateful for her leadership, progress we’ve made expanding cultural competency
into patient care, countless hours establishing relationships in the community
across the UPMC footprint, for the tremendous strides that we have made
together, and we remain committed to continuing these efforts.
Please join me
in thanking Candi for what she has done for UPMC and in congratulating her as
she takes the Dignity & Respect Campaign to the next important level.

I am
grateful for the opportunity to live my passion and realize my vision of a
national Dignity & Respect Campaign, headquartered right here in Pittsburgh. I
believe the Campaign can have a significant impact on making the world a better
place for all to live, with all of our differences.  I look forward to your
continued support and involvement with the Dignity & Respect Campaign. Let’s all
do our part!
